Samsung Unveils Record-Breaking 24Gb GDDR7 DRAM for AI and GPUs: Faster, More Efficient

Samsung launched its new 24Gb GDDR7 DRAM

Samsung has launched its new 24Gb GDDR7 DRAM, designed for AI and next-gen GPUs. This advanced memory chip delivers faster speeds and better power efficiency, making it the ideal choice for future tech applications.

The company announced that the 24Gb GDDR7 will be validated in next-generation AI computing systems from major GPU makers this year, with plans for commercialization early next year.

Key Features of 24Gb GDDR7:

  • High Performance: Samsung’s GDDR7 memory will be widely used in areas like data centers, AI workstations, and gaming consoles due to its high capacity and speed.
  • Speed Boost: With speeds of up to 40 Gbps, a 25% improvement over the previous generation, GDDR7 also has the potential to reach 42.5 Gbps, depending on the usage.
  • Power Efficiency: Samsung has integrated power-saving features like power gating design and dual VDD design, boosting efficiency by over 30% while reducing power consumption.

This cutting-edge DRAM will also be useful beyond traditional graphics cards, such as in autonomous driving systems, ensuring stability and better performance.
