Samsung Galaxy S25
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series is expected to get a big boost in Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Qualcomm has integrated UWB directly into the new processor, meaning all models of the Galaxy S25 series could have UWB support, unlike previous generations where UWB was only available in higher-end variants like the Plus and Ultra.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite combines Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and UWB through its FastConnect 7900 system, offering improved wireless performance. This new integration could simplify things for Samsung as they no longer need to add separate UWB chips to their devices.
Qualcomm’s decision to include UWB in the chipset will lead to better overall performance and unlock advanced features like digital car keys and precise location tracking. The Galaxy S25 series, rumored to launch in January 2025, will feature three models: Standard, Plus, and Ultra.
Samsung might still have the option to disable UWB via a software update, but this upgrade could set the S25 series apart, enhancing its connectivity capabilities.
Stay tuned for more updates as Samsung finalizes decisions on SoC distribution, including the possibility of using the Exynos 2500.
