Epic Games is expanding its free games program to mobile by the end of 2024, allowing users to enjoy free Android games through the Epic Games Store. This exciting move will make Epic a key destination for mobile gamers looking for top-tier games without spending a dime.
In August, Epic launched its Epic Games Store on Android, featuring popular titles like Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League Sideswipe. Now, at Unreal Fest in Seattle, Epic Games Store general manager Steve Allison revealed that the free games program will hit mobile devices in Q4 2024.
Epic also plans to bring third-party games to the store, starting with Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition later this year. About 10 to 50 other apps are expected to arrive, although payment system implementations could cause delays.

Additionally, Epic is working on self-publishing tools that will allow developers to list their games on the store with ease. This feature is expected to launch in early 2025, alongside exciting updates like in-game chat and cross-platform play.
Epic’s free games program has been hugely popular on desktop, giving users access to a wide variety of free games. Although most are older or non-AAA titles, they are still fun to play, especially on less powerful devices. The mobile version of the free games program is expected to follow a similar strategy, attracting more users to the Epic Games Store.
Epic’s expansion into mobile gaming is set to be a game-changer for Android users looking for quality, free-to-play titles.
