Some Pixel phones are reportedly experiencing dark-to-bright screen flickering issues following the recent March update. Earlier this week, Google rolled out its latest Pixel Drop alongside the March update, which included various fixes. However, it appears the update may have introduced new problems, particularly related to screen brightness.
Numerous users have taken to Reddit to report issues with screen brightness after installing the March update. The problem seems to occur primarily when watching media in fullscreen mode, with users citing platforms like Netflix, Disney Plus, and YouTube as sources of the issue. According to these reports, the screen intermittently switches between bright and dim modes. The frequency of these switches varies, with some users experiencing it every few seconds and others noticing it after several minutes.
Pixel Phones Hit by Bug
The problems don’t end there. Some users with pixel phones have also reported issues with wallpapers appearing excessively dark, even when the brightness is set to 100%. One user commented, “Even setting brightness up to 100%, the background still looks dark and dimmed.” Additionally, another user highlighted a separate issue where photos automatically dim when attempting to edit them. They explained, “When I go to edit my photos, specifically under the ‘Adjust’ screen, the pictures sometimes automatically dim.” This issue appears to be intermittent, as it doesn’t occur consistently.
Google has yet to officially address these concerns. We have reached out to the company for comment and will update this article if we receive a response. For now, pixel phone users experiencing these issues may need to wait for a potential fix in a future update.
