Google Find My Device Adds Easy Biometric Login for Quick and Secure Access

Google Find My Device

Google’s Find My Device app has introduced a new biometric login feature, making it easier and safer to access. Now, instead of typing your Google account password every time, you can log in using fingerprint, face recognition, or a PIN. This feature helps keep your information secure, especially if someone else has access to your unlocked phone.

The biometric login feature, available in the latest version 3.1.173-1, was first mentioned in May 2024 and is now live. It’s turned on by default, so you don’t need to enable it manually. If you haven’t set up fingerprint or face ID, you’ll still need to enter your password.

Additionally, the app will soon update its design for tablets. The current bottom sheet layout will be replaced with a side panel to provide more space for the map, making it easier to locate your devices. However, the side panel can’t be resized yet.
