Apple has officially introduced the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus at its Glowtime event. The iPhone 16 comes with a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Plus features a larger 6.7-inch screen.
One of the standout features is the new Camera Control button, a touch-sensitive key that allows users to easily take photos by tapping and adjust zoom by swiping. This button is conveniently located just below the power button for quick access.
Both models are powered by the A18 chip, which is 30% faster than the iPhone 15’s chip. The A18 is a 3nm processor with a six-core CPU, a five-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine, providing faster AI performance.
While Samsung has been doing well in the market recently, Apple’s new hardware, especially the iPhone 16 series, could help it regain the top spot in sales during the third quarter. However, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series, set to launch soon, could pose stiff competition. The Galaxy S25 will also feature a 3nm chipset, and Qualcomm’s Oryon CPU is expected to rival Apple’s A18 processor.
The iPhone 16 models come with some exciting new features like the Action button, first seen in the iPhone 15 Pro, brighter screens, and enhanced durability. The A18 chip with its 16-core Neural Engine also brings faster AI capabilities.
Additionally, unlike the iPhone 15 lineup, Apple Intelligence is now available across all iPhone 16 models. These AI-driven features might tempt older iPhone users to upgrade to the latest models.
